Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC Dated, Detailed

EA Germany seems to have gone early on the announcement of details regarding the final piece of downloadable content for Mass Effect 2 titled 'Arrival', revealing the date, a couple of new screenshots and exactly what the content involves.

According to EA Germany, the DLC will see Shepard and company head out to the very border of the galaxy to rescue an undercover agent who claims she has evidence of an incoming invasion of the Reapers.

That should all sound familiar, as the leaked patch details from the PS3 version of the game refer to rescuing a Dr. Amanda Kenson - could she be our undercover agent? The other clue is far less subtle - the trailer for Mass Effect 3 shows off the Reapers, well, invading.

EA Germany also date the downloadable content for a release on March 29th. That's a Tuesday, which would fit the update day on the Playstation Store, as this DLC pack will be available on PC, 360 and PS3. No price has been mentioned.

The screenshots released show off all new environments including a battle that appears to be taking place rather dangerously close to a Mass Relay and, excitingly, what we can only assume is Admiral Hackett's face. Despite appearing frequently via voice message in Mass Effect 1 and being regularly referenced in Mass Effect 2, he's never been seen in-game before.

Check out the new shots below, and remember you can find all the old Mass Effect 2 screenshots, videos and concept artwork over in the Media Vault - as well as that awesome Mass Effect 3 Trailer.
