ESRB Rates Chrono Trigger for PS3 and PSP

Chrono Trigger has the distinction of being pretty much one of the greatest RPGs ever made. It also is infamous for being protected so closely by the folks at Square-Enix that several great-looking remakes and total-conversion modifications have been shut down all in the name of protecting their sacred IP. The game also happens to be one of the more expensive games you can try and net online, with copies typically running in the hundreds of dollars, even with a Nintendo DS version out in the wild.

The ESRB page doesn't give us much in the way of information about the release, but it appears to this fellow gamer that it is all tied to Final Fantasy Chronicles which means we may or may not also be seeing Final Fantasy IV getting its own PSN release sometime in the near future. Let's just hope they wiped out most of those attrocious load times that plagued the CD release.

UPDATE: In other news, Wii fans will also be happy to note that Nintendo has just updated their site to show that Chrono Trigger will be releasing for the Virtual Console next week on April 26th for 900 Wii Points. It's a Chrono-fiesta!
