Nioh 2: The First Samurai available now; launch trailer published

Koei Tecmo has released the final DLC expansion for Nioh 2, titled The First Samurai. With this release, the full content of the game's season pass is now entirely available.

The First Samurai takes the player avatar all the way back to the early Heian era with its story loosely based on the legend of Sakanoue no Tamuramaro, a famed Japanese general in the period who was also the original owner of the Sohaya sword. This DLC adds even more armor and weapon skins based on the period, as well as new enemy yokais and Guardian Spirits. It also adds the highest difficulty level Dream of the Nioh as well as The Underworld, a new endgame mode based on the prequel's Abyss.

After a Hayabusa ninja appeared in the previous DLC Darkness in the Capital, this DLC features another cameo that pretty much looks like the long-living Nyotengu from the Dead or Alive series. You can see more of the new actions and fights with the official trailer and screenshots right below:

Nioh 2: The First Samurai

Nioh 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4. The Complete Edition that includes the whole season pass in the package will also be available on PC via Steam, as well as a PlayStation 5 remaster that makes full use of the new console features, on February 5.
