Obsidian Developing a South Park RPG

Posted on December 2, 2011 by David Kreinberg
Gameinformer has revealed a new project by Obsidian and THQ; one that could be considered quite shocking.  No, it isn't Dungeon Siege 4 but rather an RPG based on the crude political and social satire, South Park.

As surprising as it is, this does not seem to be a typical licensed proerpty cash-in.  Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators and main force behind the show, will be contributing quite a bit to the game.  In addition to overseeing production, they will also write the dialogue, script, and do the voice acting.   This is of course in great contrast to the criticial failures of both the original game and Chef's Love Shack by Acclaim back in the late 90s.  Based on this information, fans of the show should not be disappointed.

There is little information about the game so far, but we do know the protagonist will be a player created character who interacts with the colorful cast of the quiet Colorado mountain town.

The game is expected to hit next year.  We'll keep you updated.

Gold Money appears to be a good idea Max. I like their rigor with auidting their gold and I now see why they have been criticized by others for taking such rigorous accounting measures: because others may not have any gold to back their receipts.I thought I heard Bob Chapman mention that one of the elites uses it (either Roth. or Rock.?). I don't have any further background information on this information. The GoldMoney precious metals are not insured against social unrest or radioactive contamination but then, I guess, neither am I. For anyone who wants physical gold you can take delivery. According to Catherine Austin Fitts article under the GoldMoney link on Max's site here, any holdings can be delivered as bullion or converted into coins. The fees appear competitive.Sorry for sounding like an advertisement. I personally think gold is not a silver bullet (ar ar) but given the current condition of currencies and markets, it seems foolish not to either invest in yourself and local community or (like the central bankers), hide at least some of your wealth into gold.Maybe these jokers will bring stability back to the money system but I doubt it. If not gold then the tally stick or greenback will do just fine. Ditital gold is a good idea too. GoldMoney might be a good place to start such a system (if the elite haven't already corrupted it but I don't know).
