Report: Dragon Age III Going Next-Gen

It seems the next chapter in BioWare's Dragon Age franchise will be the Canadian studio's first foray into the next generation of console development. Polygon picked up a quote from EA designer Tao Gu's Linkedin CV (viewable only to Linkedin Premium members) which states:

"Scope of the DAIII has been changed [sic], which will target next gen platform and will be postpone to 2014,"

BioWare announced this new game, Dragon Age III: Inquisiton, back in September after a consumer survey leaked some key details a few months before. No specific platforms were mentioned which caused many (including this writer) to suspect there would at least be some sort of superior port on Sony and Microsoft's next major hardware releases.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition is in develpment at BioWare Edmonton and is being built on EA DICE' Frostbite 2 proprietary game engine. As of this writing, EA's official word is that the game is slated to release in the fall of 2013.
