Nintendo apologizes for European Fire Emblem delay, announces exclusive limited edition console

Nintendo has apologized to European fans for making them wait for a release of Fire Emblem: Awakening, lamenting that the game has taken so much longer to reach them than US and Japanese gamers.

As part of today's Nintendo 3DS and Luigi-focused Nintendo Direct, the company revealed that the game will launch on April 19th in Europe. They also announced that Europe will get an exclusive Fire Emblem: Awakening Nintendo 3DS XL system. The limited-run console features a crest from the game, and is a light blue colour. It comes with the game pre-installed. North America also got a limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS, but that was the normal model - this XL variant ie exclusive to Europe.

Nintendo also confirmed that all the downloadable add-ons from Japan would make their way to the region, and would be free of charge for a limited period of time after their release. Check out some images of the console bundle below.
