Dragon Quest IX Multiplayer not online
Posted on June 19, 2009 by Alex Donaldson Square Enix has confirmed to a Japanese gaming website that the multiplayer options in the highly anticipated Dragon Quest IX will be playable through system link only and not utilize the online Nintendo WiFi connection.Dragon Quest fans have been debating if the much-hyped multiplayer features of the ninth entry in the series will be playable online. When asked, Square Enix representatives didn't give the response many hoped for:
"From the beginning of development, co-op play hasn't been via WiFi, but rather DS wireless play."
There you have it, then. Local WiFi play - not online. This is similar to Square's first Crystal Chronicles title for the Nintendo DS.
