Bandai Namco has announced that Dark Souls II will be making its way to the current generation of consoles with a rerelease titled Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Releasing in April for all 3 regions, this port includes the three major DLC packs (Crown Of The Sunken King, Crown Of The Old Iron King, and Crown Of The Ivory King) as well as additional story content, improved balance, and better online matchmaking functionality.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin  will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. The current console generation and PC release can also expect to find improved visual quality.

Only some of the updates will be available for those who already own Dark Souls II on PC/PS3/360 in a free version 1.1.0 patch to launch alongside Scholar of the First Sin. This patch will include the new gameplay tweaks and story content, but not any of the three major DLC packs or visual enhancements. Bandai Namco has confirmed that PC players will have to make an additional purchase in order to get the upgraded visuals, but specific pricing has not been announced.
