Spider-Man in Kingdom Hearts: Now a possibility

With today's news that Disney have acquired Marvel Entertainment for a whopping 4 billion US dollars, there's a number of interesting new possibilities for gamers thanks to the deal.

We'll see Disney Interactive undoubtedly expand as they take over games for heroes like X-Men and Spider-Man, but here at RPGSite we saw one big, exciting possibility the moment the deal was announced: Marvel Universe Characters in Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts as a series traditionally sees original character Sora join forces with various Disney characters in worlds themed on different movies and cartoons ranging from Alice in Wonderland to Pirates of the Carribean, with Final Fantasy characters such as Cloud and Squall filling out the cast.

Disney's acquiring of Marvel opens up a big chance for Square Enix to exploit these properties in upcoming Kingdom Hearts titles. Series boss Tetsuya Nomura revealed this month that Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep features a secret unlockable movie that teases the next game in the series.
