Square Enix CEO sinks 30 hours into Dragon Quest IX

Posted on September 7, 2009 by Alex Donaldson
It seems Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada is as addicted to Dragon Quest IX as the rest of Japan - having spent 30 hours on the game in 4 days.

In his weekly column in Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Wada tells how he always tries out the latest games, and "spent 30 hours in the four days after its release" in the case of Dragon Quest IX.

He's not just a hardcore gamer, though - Wada goes on to elaborate about how as well as enjoy the games he also uses playing them as a way to figure out what makes a game a hit and get ideas about what to make next.

'Research', eh? We'll give you that one.

Cool, I thought Wada was the evil money boss of SE, but he actually plays games! I wonder what he'll say when he plays FFXIII

But will he be waggling away with DQX?
