Japanese Final Fantasy XIII Boxart Revealed

Posted on October 24, 2009 by Alex Donaldson
What appears to be the complete Japanese boxart for Final Fantasy XIII appears to have leaked onto the web with the final boxart being identical to the art shown next to a special edition console at TGS 2009.

While we're not certain this is the final art, we've fired off an email to Square Enix reps in both the US and Japan - and as soon as they answer we'll update this story. Stick up to date with our RSS Feed and Twitter!

If this is the final box art and not exclusive to the version of the game bundled with the Lightning Pink PS3 console it will be the first main FF to launch with any boxart other than the game logo on a white background in Japan.

In the meantime check it out below and be sure to Pre-Order FF13 over at Play-Asia if you want to get your hands on an import copy as close to the game's December 17th release as possible and let us know what you think of the art in our comments section!

Update: Square Enix reps have confirmed to us that the final boxart has not yet been officially revealed to the public and this is not a file released by them, but declined to comment on this boxart's status and if it is a correct representation.

Looks lame compared to the good old JP/EU covers.

This is obviously fake

Odin render with lightning on it + render of XIII logo = easy fake

The 360 Version HAS affected the PS3 version thats proably why the game doesn't have any dam limit beaks

@Jim - Button basher, maybe, but he knows not to turn summons into transformers. And actually, the 360 version has caused the PS3 version to have no dual audio. The 360 version most probably has affected the PS3 version even more than that, but you can bet your ass Square wouldn't dare mention it.

Hopefully Squeenix is just leaking this out to get impressions. Then maybe theyll change it to the more traditional...however.. on the other hand... all the PS2 FF games never had an all white background with just the logo... as much as i wish they had.

Looks fine. As for necronzero, good luck with your nomura button basher. the only thing saving KH from mediocrity was disney, that gameplay alone with no disney still suck ass.

And for the last time it wasn't dumbed down for 360. they even say so in an interview on this site!!

I concur with most here. The traditional logo on white is the way to go.
This looks more like what the american boxart would be.
I take that back... add a montage of the other characters or a michael bay explosion in the background, then you'll have ur american boxart ;)

This one doesn't look any good, I prefer the logo only boxart... look more elegant

I hope that it's just the regular logo on white background in Japan and Europe... dont mess with tradition :(
