Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 are now backwards compatible on Xbox One

With all the excitement surrounding Mass Effect Andromeda, what better time to play through the original trilogy than now. This morning EA and Microsoft announced that Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 are now available on Xbox One via backwards compatibility.

In order to play the games on Xbox One you will need disk copies of the Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, or you can play them directly off your hard drive if you own digital copies. If you already own the games digitally on your Xbox Live account, they will both appear as readily installable.

Additionally if you don't own the games but do have an EA access subscription, EA has made the games available on the EA Access vault. Bear in mind that you will lose access to the games if you cancel your EA Access subscription.

The original Mass Effect has been backwards compatible on Xbox One for some time now, so you can now play through the entire trilogy on Xbox One! It is unclear however if you will need to purchase the DLC for each game again or if it is included. Either way these are classic RPGs that you should not miss!
