Shin Megami Tensei Revealed for PS3?

Posted on January 20, 2010 by Zack Reese
According to Japanese blog My Game News Flash, a new page has shown up on Amazon.jp with a listing for a brand new entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series exclusively for the Playstation 3. This doesn't appear to be Persona 5 either, since those games don't have the Shin Megami Tensei branding coming before it like it does in the West.

Not much else is known, but due to the fact that a page does now exist, and with the history of video game-related leaks that the site is known for, we may have come upon some evidence that suggest the game is close to being completed. We may very well see a high-def SMT game in 2010. How frickin' awesome would that be? Stay tuned to RPGSite for more related news.

Playstation 3

Manufacturer: Sony
Introduced: May 16, 2005
Released:
Format: Blu-Ray, CD, DVD
Background:
Sony's Playstation 3 was first introduced at E3 2005. It launched in Japan and America with massive stock shortages in November 2005 but did not make its way to Europe until March 2006.

Despite struggling to match the success of the PS2, the PS3 has become a popular choice amongst gaming enthusiasts and is touted as one of the best value Blu-Ray players on the market. In August 2009, Sony introduced a slim model of the machine, identical in capabilities but smaller and lighter.

User irtfneace now. Half of the screen is removed with that stupid artwork that only serve to be good to look at! I don't want something pretty! i want something pratical to navigate trough! Things that could have been done in morrowind in two clicks were done in Oblivion in 5 or 6 click, ridiculous ! Textbox now! In morrowind, textbox of information where everywhere. In oblivion, you had to sweat blood and water to know the effect of a the spell the enemy casted on you.

I've been waiting for this type of announcement! I hope after FFXIII is released we'll get a flood of excellent JRPGs. I hate all this talk of them being a dying breed. WRPGs just don't interest me. Maybe I should try more of them, but I don't care for the art style, the first-person perspective, and the general gameplay as I see it.

Any idea why they use Shin Megami Tensei for Persona only in the West? I thought it was pretty cool when they started putting that in the heading, is that why? haha
