Super NES Classic Edition up for preorder at the end of August with a large stock

While a lot of consumers were disappointed recently when Walmart had mistakenly put a page up for the highly-anticipated Super NES Classic Edition, Nintendo finally announced today what is sure to be the hottest product of the year will be available for preorder at the end of this month.

Through their Facebook page, Nintendo confirmed the details by stating, "We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for preorder by various retailers late this month."

And this is the best part of the news: they noted that “a significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.” While we don't know what that exactly means, we can only hope the company will finally make a decent effort at keeping up with demand. There are no guarantees either way.

The mini-console will go on sale in North America on September 29. Those in the UK have already been fortunate enough to preorder their unit shortly after the original announcement.
