Elden Ring shares extended look at gameplay tomorrow

After months of whispering around where and what Elden Ring really was, this year's Summer Game Fest Stream confirmed FromSoftware's collaboration with George R.R. Martin is out next year. Tomorrow, November 4, you'll get another look at the project in a 15-minute long preview starting at 7 a.m. PT/3 p.m. CET.

Since Elden Ring broke its silence in June, FromSoftware has continued a slow and steady tease of art and provided more details around its closed network test—a lot for an account that hadn't posted anything prior since 2019. Today, its official Twitter revealed the new gameplay footage would air via its YouTube and Twitch channels. However, subtitles will only be an option on YouTube.

Elden Ring's been a bit of an enigma in recent years, but its story of silence and obstacles is a more common one given the ongoing struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic. FromSoftware's next big adventure from Hidetaka Miyazaki still continues to pick up steam though, as registration for that aforementioned closed network test just closed, and the sessions will begin for those of you lucky enough to get in on November 12.

Over on YouTube, Bandai Namco's countdown has already begun, and you can watch the Elden Ring's gameplay preview here when it airs. As for when you can play the full game itself, Elden Ring is out on February 25, 2022—that's about a month later than its original date set for January

Outside of Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s older hits are still generating buzz. Just last year, Bluepoint Games released its remake of the beloved 2009 RPG, Demon’s Souls. It’s no collaboration between Miyazaki and Martin, but our very own Josh Torres found it to be “one of the best launch titles” he’d ever seen, and one to revisit for the future.
