Nioh 2 - The Complete Edition coming to PS5, PS4, and Steam on February 5, final DLC out December 17
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have published a lot of new information related to the Nioh series. We now have a release date for the third and final DLC included in the Nioh 2 Season Pass, titled The First Samurai, that will be available on December 17.
After that, the whole game will be bundled with the season pass content into Nioh 2 - The Complete Edition, which will be released on not only PlayStation 4 but also PC via Steam on February 5. Those who buy Nioh 2 on Steam will receive an exclusive Valve Helmet.
The entire Nioh series will be also making their way to the PlayStation 5. The Nioh Collection will contain both PS5 remastered versions of the first Nioh and Nioh 2, and it will be available on February 5. You can also get an upgrade to the PS5 version of Nioh 2 if you own the existing version of Nioh 2 on PS4. The PlayStation 5 remasters of the two Nioh games will come with the following enhancements, as listed on the Japanese official webpage:
- Supports 4K resolution and 120 fps frame rate
- Improved graphics quality
- Faster loading time
- Supports PS5 Activity feature
- Supports the DualSense's Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Trigger
- Supports 3D Audio
- Cross-platform matching with PS4 version players
- Save data transfer from PS4 to PS5
Nioh 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4. The first two DLC packs, The Tengu's Disciple and Darkness in the Capital, were released on July 30 and October 15 respectively. The final DLC pack, The First Samurai, will reveal all the remaining mysteries in Nioh 2's storyline by time traveling all the way back to the early Heian era.
