Tune in to a Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary livestream on June 16

Square Enix has announced the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration Broadcast, a livestream event airing on June 16.

Clocking in at about ten minutes or so, the presentation won't exactly eat up afternoons, but Square's Tetsuya Nomura himself has vowed that it will be packed with FFVII goodness from start to finish.

“We will be streaming “FINAL FANTASY VII 25th Anniversary Celebration”. At only around 10 minutes long, it will be short and sweet, but we have packed in lots of information, so I hope everyone can look forward to the unveiling."

The presentation will begin at 18:00 EST — that's six o'clock in the evening, to be clear. This puts it at 23:00 BST over in the UK.

Square Enix's tweet contains the hashtags #FFVII25th, #FF7R, and ##FF7FS, the lattermost being short for Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier. That's by no means a guarantee that the mobile battle royale will receive an update at the event, and indeed some fans will no doubt hope it's filled with totally newer coverage instead, but it's worth noting in advance.

Will we finally learn more about Ever Crisis, the upcoming chapter-based mobile release Square claims shall span the full Compilation of FFVII timeline, from Crisis Core through the main game and all the way to Dirge of Cerberus? Dare we hope for our inaugural glimpse at Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, or whatever it ends up being labeled?

Time will tell, but at least fans won't have to wait for much longer.
