Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online dated for August

For Japanese Dragon Quest fans, the wait will finally be over - the next entry in the series drops on August 2nd.

The Wii (and eventual Wii U) title will be priced at ¥6,980 for a standalone copy, and ¥8,980 for one bundled with a USB memory card.

As with most MMOs, Dragon Quest X will carry a subscription fee. ¥1,000 for 30 days, ¥1,950 for 60 and ¥2,900 for 90 days worth of play time. Both versions of the game will come packaged with a 20 day free trial, and users will be able to use up to three character slots.

Regarding requirements, those who wish to play must have at least a 16GB USB memory stick and broadband internet connection. The game will ship on two discs, although details on that are still unknown.

Square Enix also plans to have 'Kid Times' for the game, which means periods of free-to-play similar to what other recent paid MMOs have done.
