Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden free demo now available

Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Don't Nod have announced that a free demo is now available for Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

The demo includes the first mission of the action RPG, and progress will transfer over to the full game.

In my review, I stated that Banishers' "excellent characters and storytelling are diminished by its mundane world structure and repetitive combat."

In Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, players step into the shoes of Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, experienced spirit hunters sent to New Eden on a mission to aid the settlers. The stakes escalate dramatically when Antea is tragically killed during an ill-advised attack, becoming one of the very ghosts she despises. This catastrophic turn of events leaves Red torn between upholding their oath to protect the living from malevolent spirits and the devastating reality of his mentor and lover Antea's condition.
