Pre-order Lightning Returns and dress Lightning up as Cloud

Square Enix has revealed the European and North American pre-order bonuses for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII - and while the majority of the goods are digital, they do also include the added bonus of letting Lightning dress up as the most iconic hero of the FF series, FF7's Cloud Strife.

Those who pre-order the game in North America and Europe will get their hands on a pre-order bonus pack that includes a snazzy steelbook cover for the game and a download code for an exclusive FF7-themed costume.

The costume is more than just cosmetic, and when equipped also then features Cloud's iconic Buster Sword, victory pose and the classic FF victory fanfare. The Cloud outfit will come with a selection of in-game abilities attached, though Square has chosen to not announce these just yet.

It's a pretty good fit, in truth - Lighting was dreamed up when designer Tetsuya Nomura was asked to imagine a female take on Cloud.

European fans will also be able to get their hands on the Lightning Samurai set for pre-ordering, another additional costume themed around traditional Japanese warrior garb. There's three in-game items to this set,  with looks titled 'Shogun', 'Sohei Savior' and 'Flower of Battle'.
