Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey announced for Nintendo 3DS

Atlus has announced Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey for Nintendo 3DS - an enhanced port of the 2009 DS dungeon crawler.  This new version includes new artwork for the characters as well as voice acting. Some of the demon redesigns seen in Shin Megami Tensei IV and Apocalypse will be seen in the remaster. There will also be a feature to save anywhere.

For those unfamiliar with the original game, SMT: Strange Journey is structured like an Etrian Odyssey game as a first person dungeon crawler with a minimap on the lower handheld screen. A mysterious dimension known as the Schwarzwelt has appeared over the Antarctic, and a special forces Strike Team has been sent to investigate before this dimension swallows the world whole.

Deep Strange Journey introduces a new character, Alex, featured in the trailer and keyart. She attacks the protagonist for unknown reasons, and her presence is thus far a mystery.
