Marvelous and Type-Moon have today officially revealed Fate/Extella Link, and opened the Japanese official site. As with the previous game, Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, Fate/Extella Link is an action game with Dynasty Warriors-like gameplay. The game's producer Kenichiro Tsukuda is promising that Link will have both improved graphics and actions compared to The Umbral Star.

Alternator also put up an excerpt from interview about the game at Type-Moon Ace magazine, which specified that Marvelous proposed Fate/Extella Link as a side story-like game with more emphasis on the action gameplay, while a proper sequel to Fate/Extella is still currently being plotted separately.

Fate/Extella Link will take place in the same world The Umbral Star takes place in, but it will have a new story that focuses on the first new servant added to this game, which is Charlemagne.

"I'm Saber, Charlemagne. First of all, won't you calm down and hear my story?"

A carefree young lad who speaks in a rather blunt manner, thinking he's not really suitable as a king. He has an aesthetic standard when making movements, on whether it looks 'cool' or 'bland'. Even though that would put himself or his Master at a disadvantage...

The Master character is also returning in this game, sporting a new costume that looks like they're involved in a field battle. As with the previous game, player can choose the Master's gender and name (Although the generally accepted default name would be Hakuno Kishinami).
