Square Enix "still talking with Microsoft" on FF14 for 360

Posted on June 20, 2010 by Alex Donaldson
The Producer of Final Fantasy XIV has told RPG Site that his development team and the company are still in talks with Microsoft regarding bringing the Square Enix MMO to the Xbox 360.

When asked about the status of an Xbox 360 version by RPG Site during an E3 2010 interview, Hiromichi Tanaka replied "We are still talking with Microsoft about an Xbox 360 version, but at the moment we are only working on the PS3 version and Windows version."

When asked if the lack of an Xbox 360 port was down to Microsoft's strict Xbox Live Policies, Tanaka refused to elaborate. It's clear that for now FF14 is remaining PS3 and PC only, but Tanaka and his team definitely seem interested in an Xbox 360 port. The PC version of the game on show at E3 2010 was compatible with Xbox 360 controllers.

Stop being stubborn, MS! More FF on your console can only be a good thing.

Why are 360 fanboys butthurt over a 'retarded' PS3 fanboy's comments?
Sanctimony never ends.

@Andy:

Ironic that you're butthurt enough to respond. His post is credible; I mean, did you see what that other idiot wrote? If that's not "retarded," then I don't know what is.

It's true, ffxi was on the xbox, like 2 years after launch.

Why are PS3 fanboys so desperate and retarded?

FFXI was on Xbox 360 and it's an MMO only on 1 disk. You don't need multiple disks for MMOs. And of course FF13 sold less on Xbox 360; it was exclusive to PS3 in Japan (where it's the biggest) and is a FF main series on the Xbox console for the first time. It sold so well on Xbox 360 that Wada is considering Versus going to 360, as well.

Everybody knows 14 is coming to 360 eventually, due to what SE said and the resume being leaked. You might as well get ready to commit suicide for when the time comes because is IS happening.

not at all! psn is more open and xbox live is more closed ask gabe newell he kept on bashing the ps3 and now he says ps3 is more open cause now ps3 is better than 360. and the xbox version of final fantasy 13 sold less and was on 3 dvds so how can a mmo which is larger fit on 3 discs or 4 or even 5 dvd!!!!!!!!!!

Tanaka should completely forget about the xbox version. If Gabe Newell was unable to put his Steamwork in Xbox live even after creating exclusives after exclusives on the Xbox 360, what more FFXIV?
