More Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy Screenshots

Posted on September 16, 2010 by Alex Donaldson
Square Enix is being a tad stingy with these screenshots of Dissidia: Final Fantasy's sequel, aren't they? We got a measly three when the game was first announced earlier in the week - and now Tokyo Game Show has kicked off they've been kind enough to send us two more of Lightning and Kain, the two new confirmed characters, in action.

Rumours indicate that buxom Final Fantasy VII heroine Tifa is also confirmed for the game at the show, but we haven't verified that ourselves yet.

In the meantime, check out all the screenshots released so far - all five of them - below. We'll bring you more as we get it, as well as our hands-on gameplay impressions from the show floor. Let us know what you think of how the game is shaping up in the comments!

I am an Uber-fan of Final Fantasy, and I just have to say this.

IMPROVE THE VOICE ACTING, DAMNIT!!!

The voice acting in the first felt either half-assed, or overkilled, ya know?

I dn't know why so many of you are complaining about this and that.
But! I sure as hell know that Dissidia canNOT accommodate too much characters or else it'll end up like Marrel vs. Capcom 2 without any specific endings for any character at all.
Why?
Simple, there's too much data spent for polishing the character's looks and movesets. And it's not just that cutscenes and such also eat up data. Moreover, the Summons, the new features such as the Assist system, the story mode... everything would take up too much data.
And of course, they would want to treat their characters equally. If they can only make 14 out of 16 character endings, I don't think they'd end up making any endings at all.

One more thing, about the characters... I don't know and maybe I don't care about people's shitty opinions. (Okay, so maybe there aren't many people bitching about it here but I'm poting it anyway.)
But for goodness sake, stop complaining. If there are any missing characters in your opinion, then it's your opinion and you can't just go bitching about it like a mindless zombie on crack.
That's plain stupid.
Instead of whining like a baby when you find the game more than lacking, why don't you go look for petitions about the Dissidia sequel and sign for them? I know there are those kinds of petitions out there.
Also, you're not the game's developer. You can't choose for the game.

Anyways, time to end rant before it reaches an entire three pages.

For me, it's getting developed at just the right time. Since release I've played the original nonstop and just recently have I had to take a break from it. I plan on keeping away from it until this one comes out to build the anticipation.(I'm not one of those people that gets ready for playing a sequel by playing the previous installment nonstop.)

I would normally say they should wait until at least Final Fantasy Versus 13 comes out... But the progress on that game has been so completely half-a$$ed and lazy that it doesn't even deserve to be waited for anymore. I say just give us the Versus 13 characters as FREE DLC after wards because they should have been in there from the start anyway. (And Yes I know I'm implying this game will be complete before Versus is.)

I agree that they kind of should have waited a little for the next in the series, but I think they released it so early because it was in such high demand.

As for me, I'm psyched for the game!

It's only been about a year, two years tops since they released the first one, now they're on the second one...they really should be taking this more seriously. The first Dissidia was made as part of the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy, meaning that it was something special for both the developers and the fans. But to treat it like it's just another series without waiting until at least Final Fantasy XVII...It's kind of saddening.

I like the concept, and there are many more characters that should be added in my humble opinion. But I just don't think that it should be done at this point in time.
