Where do you find the new Endwalker Tomestone Vendor?

Endwalker’s Tomestone Vendor is located in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.8, Y:10.3). Chianti is tucked away in one of the alleys just in front of the central Aetheryte Plaza, and she offers Moonward gear. It’s item level 570 and will be among the best you can get until farming EX trials and new raid content. If you’re looking to cash in those tomes, here’s what you can buy from the vendor:

Moonward Gear

  • Weapons - 500 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Body, Pants - 410 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Hats, Gloves, Boots - 245 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Accessories - 180 Tomes of Aphorism

If you’re a Final Fantasy IV fan, you’ll notice these are some of the same pieces that pay tribute to its cast. The gear is worth checking out, even if you’re just in it for the glamour.

Where do you get Aphorism Tomestones?

The best way to earn Aphorism Tomes is through completing your daily Expert Roulette; it’s worth prioritizing this first if you’re short on time. For those looking to quickly farm, your roulette rewards should net you a fair amount with the following:

Duty Finder Roulette Rewards

  • Expert (Level 90) - 160 Tomes of Aphorism (Reward + Dungeon Bonus)
  • Level 50/60/70/80 Dungeons - 120 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Leveling - 100 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Trials - 60 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Main Scenario - 100 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Alliance Raids - 120 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Normal Raids - 60 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Mentor - 30 Tomes of Aphorism
  • Frontlines - 50 Tomes of Aphorism

You can also earn Tomes of Aphorism through Hunts, something to look for in Party Finder. Players organize Hunt Trains through PF, Discord, and other community hubs to quickly farm Tomes and other currency. There’s also Wonderous Tails from Khloe in Idyllshire, which has the chance of rewarding you with Aphorism and Poetics.

FFXIV_Endwalker_How_To_Exchange_Old_Tomestones_For_Poetics.jpg

How do you exchange old Tomestones?

If you still have Allagan Tomestones of Allegory or Allagan Tomestones of Revelation, you can exchange those at Revenant’s Toll (X:22.7, Y:6.7) in Mor Dhona. Speak to the middle NPC behind the counter there, Auriana, and select “Allagan Tomestone Exchange,” the last option.

She’ll swap your Allegory and Revelation for Poetics. It’s worth doing as soon as possible, as this vendor eventually replaces old currency with new, and you’ll lose the ability to exchange some of these.

What should you spend Aphorism Tomestones on?

Once you’ve completed Endwalker’s MSQ, you can earn Aphorism Tomes - but you won’t get anything before then, even at level 90. Once that’s done, you should start spending Tomes as you earn them to avoid the 2,000 cap.

Prioritize buying your weapon first, then big pieces like your body armor and pants. Those will give you the biggest stat increases. Remember a boost to main stat (Mind, Intelligence, Dexterity, etc.) and item level is generally always worth it over whatever gear you may have in your inventory.

What should you spend Poetics on?

You’ve got a few choices when it comes to spending Poetic Tomes, but the most obvious is starting out with new leveling gear. If you intend to start Reaper or Sage, go ahead and buy Augmented Scaeven Gear from Enna in Rhalgr’s Reach (X:13.8, Y:11.6). A complete set of armor and accessories will cost you 3,455 Poetics. You can get your weapon for an additional 600 Poetics from Eschina, standing beside Enna at (X13.8, Y:11.8) in Rhalgr’s Reach.

And as a general rule, you should never cap on any currency in Final Fantasy XIV - that’s a principle to carry with you beyond just Poetics. If you have no use for any additional gear, check out the market board and see what’s selling on your server. The “Other” tab vendors like Enna offer can supply you with crafting items. You should buy what’s hot at the moment and sell it off. Even if it doesn’t go for a ton, it’s better than wasting the currency and easy Gil.
