Valkyrie Elysium Endings Guide: How to get all endings in Valkyrie Elysium

Carrying on the tradition of multiple endings from its Valkyrie Profile predecessors, Valkyrie Elysium has several multiple endings that players can obtain in their playthrough. Valkyrie Elysium does not have a New Game+ feature after beating the game.

Thankfully, it is possible to obtain all the endings in a single playthrough. With this guide, you'll obtain the Unbound Possibilities trophy that requires you to see all the endings in Valkyrie Elysium.

All of the different prerequisites are contained in Valkyrie Elysium’s final chapter, The Fate of the World. Depending on what actions players do in this last stage, one of four different endings will occur.

Let’s go over all the factors that influence what ending you can end up with. Naturally, there will be spoilers in this guide for Valkyrie Elysium, so consider yourself warned.

There are two critical factors that determine which of the four endings you end up with in Valkyrie Elysium: Verdant Blossoms and the Optional Armand Scene.

Verdant Blossoms

Valkyrie Elysium Verdant Blossom Chapter 9 Map

Verdant Blossoms are different from Hollow Blossoms in Valkyrie Elysium. Unlike Hollow Blossoms, the content of Verdant Blossoms cannot be read at all until all of them are found. Their dialogue will be blurred out until the final one is obtained in the last chapter.

Verdant Blossoms are marked on the in-game map as green dots. Be on the lookout for them when you enter a new region, since they are crucial in unlocking endings. A few of them may not appear on the map unless you are on a higher elevation, so you may need to be extra vigilant in checking the map often if you’re missing any.

Although collecting all Verdant Blossoms are a prerequisite to a few endings, they will not stay all collected when you load a completed save file.

When loading a completed save file, it will load players back into the Valhalla hub base before they start the final chapter. It will “reset” the prerequisites to the stage back as if players never collected the final Verdant Blossom, nor have viewed the Optional Armand Scene in order for them to collect the other endings they have missed.

Optional Armand Scene

Armand is waiting for Valkyrie at the northern part of the final stage. He is marked on the in-game map. Whether Valkyrie shows up or not is for players to decide.

Viewing it will unveil certain revelations, along with an important choice at the end of the lengthy scene.

Valkyrie Elysium - All Endings List

Here is a final spoiler warning for you before I discuss all the different prerequisites to unlock Valkyrie Elysium’s four endings.

If you are prepared, proceed.

Ending A - Do Not Collect All Verdant Blossoms, View Optional Armand Scene

This is the easiest ending to get and will end the game prematurely immediately.

All players need to do is view the Optional Armand Scene at the final chapter and choose the 2nd choice ‘Choose to be human and go with Armand.’

After a brief cutscene, the game will end and roll its credits.

Ending B - Do Not Collect All Verdant Blossoms, Do Not View Optional Armand Scene

This is another easy ending to get. Simply do not go out of your way to collect the last Verdant Blossom in the final chapter. Do not go and talk to Armand either. Go straight to the marked destination.

You will receive this ending if your final fights are Fenrir, Hilde, Fenrir, and Fenrir again.

This is what I would consider to be a “bad” ending due to how the conclusion plays out.

Ending C - Do Not Collect All Verdant Blossoms, View Optional Armand Scene

For this ending, talk to Armand and view the optional scene with him. In the dialogue choice at the end of this scene, choose the 1st choice ‘Accept that you are a Valkyrie and do what must be done.’

This will allow you to keep playing till the end of the game and this ending has a lot of boss fights; some of them restrict you from using your Einherjar too.

I consider this not only the most difficult ending due to the sheer amount of boss fights and the nature of them, but it feels like this is the “worst” ending in the context of the story.

Ending D - Collect All Verdant Blossoms, View Optional Armand Scene

This ending is when you go out of your way in obtaining all the Verdant Blossoms and talking to Armand in the final chapter to see the Optional Scene with him. Just like before, you must choose the 1st choice ‘Accept that you are a Valkyrie and do what must be done’ in order to continue playing.

The boss fights for this ending are Fenrir, Odin, and Odin once more.

This ending is what I would consider to be a “true” ending that neatly wraps a bow to the fates of the Valkyrie, her Einherjar, and Hilde.
