Crisis Core Shops: How to unlock every Shop, and what they sell

Shops are something of a series tradition, but in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII the stores Zack can visit take a rather different form - all accessed through the menus, with Zack basically shopping by mail order for the whole game.

The way you access and unlock all of the Crisis Core shops is a little complicated, as many of the shops are missable and tied to completely optional side content. This guide covers all that so you can unlock every shopm and get every item you need - Accessories, Materia, and beyond.

The versions of the game are identical, so this will work for both Crisis Core on PSP and the remastered Crisis Core Reunion.

Crisis Core Shops, Item Lists, and Shop Unlocks

Unlocking all of the Crisis Core Shops takes time, but doing so will let you buy many items.

Zack will begin his adventure in Crisis Core with access to just one shop, the Shinra Shop. The Shinra Shop is all you'll initially need, as it sells the four basic items you'll need a lot of early on in the game. From there, however, you can unlock a range of shops by completing side missions and, in a handful of cases, advancing the story.

Most of the shops are unlocked by obtaining a specific Key Item - which is often found in a side mission. Below, you'll find a list of all sixteen shops in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, plus how to unlock them, and what each store sells:

Once you unlock a shop in Crisis Core, you'll get a pop-up - and then it'll be available in your menus.

Shinra Shop

Unlocked from the start of the game, selling all your basic goods:

  • Potion (50 gil)
  • Ether (200 gil)
  • Soma (200 gil)
  • Remedy (200 gil)

Sec. 8 Materia Shop

Complete Mission 6-2-1, 'Slum Development Plan 1' to unlock this shop.

  • HP Up (1000 gil)
  • MP Up (1000 gil)
  • AP Up (1000 gil)
  • Drain (5000 gil)
  • Osmose (4000 gil)

Sec. 5 Materia Shop

Unlocked by completing Mission 6-2-3, 'Mako Excavation Site'.
