Assassin's Creed Odyssey Romance Guide: all romances and how to start them

It wouldn't be a story and choice driven RPG if you didn't have the option to get it on with some of the members of the cast, and so as Assassin's Creed Odyssey chases becoming a fully-fledged RPG it's no surprise to see it embrace romance subplots fully.

On this page, we're going to outline all of the romance and love stories in the game, detailing the characters they're with and how to get these story lines started off. There's a lot of them, so you're going to be... busy with romance on your path to Assassin's Creed Odyssey's endings to say the least. Ahem.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Romances: every romance, who it's with and how to start it

Within Odyssey, romances play out the same regardless of if you're Kassandra or Alexios - characters aren't picky about that. Monogamy isn't much of a concern, either - there's a lot of romance options in the game, though most of them are perhaps best described as flings and one-night-stands more than actual romances.

As such, a completionist might want to ensure they see them all... and that's what this list is for. Here's every romance, their quest line, and how to get them started:

Odessa Romance: A Small Odyssey, A Family Ordeal & A True Story

To Romance Odessa, you'll first need to track down Odessa, and she's in a dire situation. You'll find her to the east of Odysseus's Palace - inside a cage! Take on her quest, 'A Small Odyssey' and escort her to the safety of her boat. Once on the boat, you'll be able to flirt some - but that's all for now.

The second part opf Odessa's quest line is 'A Family Ordeal'. This can be picked up from a farm in Megaris - it's to the east of Megara. Odessa's father is sick, and she needs some help getting the right ingredients to help him... and there's bandits. Of course there are. Complete it, and flirt again.

The third and final part of Odessa's quest and your quest to romance her is 'A True Story'. Head on back to Odessa's farm and complete this little detective quest. When you do, you'll finally be rewarded with her romance.

Alkibiades Romance: Oil and Love

Alkibiades is a half-naked party-going chap in Athens - and if that's your type, you'll want to pursue his romance plot. To do that, head to the Perikles residence in Greater Athens - this actually happens as part of the main quest, and you'll encounter Alkibiades as part of that plot line.

The quest that leads to romance with Alkibiades is Oil and Love, so keep an eye out for that. This quest line involves oil and a goat. Once you've done this, you'll actually have a few more chances to hang out with Alkibiades as the story progresses.

Auxesia Romance: Age is Just a Number

In the Temple of Apollo in Phokis, you'll be able to encounter an older lady, Auxesia, who is looking for help in crafting a love potion. If you help her out as part of the quest 'Age is Just a Number', you'll be rewarded. All you have to do is gather tongue of a deer and a bear's scrotum - of course.

Lykaon Romance: Helping a Healer

The 'Helping a Healer' side quest is found in the Chora of Delphi in Phokis, where you'll meet Lykaon. Lykaon is a healer who needs a hand gathering some herbs, that most traditional of RPG quest activities. Once you've done that, deliver the herbs as instructed... and you'll discover that Lykaon's intentions aren't all they first seemed.

If you agree to help him get rid of his grandmother, there'll be some more battling and a fight with bandits. These are the quests 'Sins of the Past' and 'The Unkindest Cut'. However, you'll want to stop him from actually going through with it - tell him "Violence won't solve anything" - and you'll have a reward for that.

assassins_creed_odyssey_kyra_romance.jpg

Kyra Romance & Thelatas Romance: Trouble in Paradise

For our money, this is one of the best side quest strings in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and it all begins with the main story quest given to you by Barnabas called 'Trouble in Paradise'. This quest requires you head to Mykonos to deal with their corrupt government - and through this mission quest you'll meet Kyra and her lover Thelatos. You'll be faced with a choice here, so keep reading...

During the course of the quest you'll have to side with either Kyra or Thelatas. If you side with Kyra, you'll lock in the option to romance here but lose the option of doing the do with Thelatas. If you choose Thelatas, you'll have the potential to romance them both - so keep that in mind.

This quest line continues with the quest 'Kyra with a cause', 'Bleeding Hearts and Stolen Money', and 'Goddess of the Hunt' - and the latter leads to the full, natural conclusion of the romance.

Zopheras Romance: Not my Mother's Daughter

This quest line is found in the Temple of Athens in Lakonia. This quest sees you tasked with teaching a woman's daughter, Zopheras, to be a better woman, so you're tasked with basically becoming a personal trainer. Flirt and flirt away and eventually the young woman will get the hots for teacher. The rest is history.

assassins_creed_odyssey_aikaterine_romance.jpg

Aikaterine Romance: An Actor's Life for Me

To kick off Aikaterine's multi-quest romance subplot, you'll need to head to the Perikles residence in Anthens. This quest will pop around the start of chapter 8 of Assassin's Creed Odyssey's main quest. The quest points you to Aristophanes, who is missing his star actor for his play. Agree to help out and ready yourself for this two-part romance quest.

After tracking down the star actor in question, you'll then be set off on stage two of this quest line, 'An A-Musing tale'. This will lead you to Aikaterine at the House of Aphrodite. She's up for flirting straight away, but to truly get her attentions you need to kill Rhexenor, a cultist who's been threatening her. Once that is done, you'll be able to complete the quest... and get a little reward off Aikaterine yourself.

assassins_creed_odyssey_roxana_romance.jpg

Roxana Romance: Sparring with Roxana, Archery Practice & Foot Race

Roxana is in training for a big fight, and she's a tough warrior type - but that doesn't mean she doesn't want love too. FInd her in the settlement to the West of the Hermit's Summit in the Thermal Springs area of Hydrea. When you meet her, she invites you to train with her, starting the 'Sparring with Roxana' quest.

This naturally leads into parts two and three of the quest, 'Archery Practice' and 'Foot Race', both of which will challenge your skills. Flirt as much as you can during these missions and it'll lead to romance once they're over. If you take a shine to Roxana you can also join her in her fight - but there's no more romance scenes to be had.

assassins_creed_odyssey_daphnae_romance.jpg

Daphnae Romance: The Daughters of Artemis & The Goddesses' Hunt

This is it - probably the most intense, lengthy romance sequence in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, though honestly it's because most of this romance quest is busy work. To meet Daphnae head to the Temple of Artemis in Phokis - there you'll find her and she'll give you a quest, 'The Daughters of Artemis'. You'll be tasked with killing a boar. Once you've done that, part two of the quest begins, 'The Goddesses' Hunt'.

This second part of the quest is a bit annoying. Okay - potentially a lot annoying. It's a seven-part quest, with each part to kill a beast and return their pelts to Daphnae. Here's the list of beasts and quests, plus their levels:

  • The Hind of Keryneia (Level 16)
  • The Nemean Lion (Level 22)
  • The Kretan Bull (Level 33)
  • Kallisto the Bear (Level 37)
  • The Erymanthian Boar (Level 38)
  • The Lykaon Wolf (Level 38)
  • The Krokottas Hyena (Level 39)

As you can see, this'll take you a good long while and keep you busy for much of the game. Each time you return you'll get a kiss and some flirtation, but for the real reward you'll have to complete the entire quest line.

assassins_creed_odyssey_xenia_romance.jpg

Xenia Romance: A Pirate's Life for Me

You'll encounter Xenia during the course of the main story in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, but once you've met here you'll have a new quest appear, 'A Pirate's Life for Me'. This quest will involve you finding a bunch of items through clues - it's basically one big treasure hunt, and like the Daphnae romance, it requires a lot of work.

Once you complete this quest line, Xenia will be open as a romance option - you'll just have to put in all the work.
