Persona 3 Reload: Tanaka (Devil) social link choices & unlock guide
There aren't many characters in Persona 3 Reload that pass over to other entries in the series - but fans coming to Persona 3 late might recognise the Devil arcana representative - the Tanaka Social Link. Tanaka plays a minor role in Persona 4 - but ehre he's a full-blown social link with all the trappings that involves. This guide is here to help you to navigate and quickly max out the Tanaka S-Link.
A quick note on versions of Persona 3 - this guide is only for Persona 3 Reload, as it has a different translation, dialogue, and S-Link point values. We do have a P3 Portable version of this page that's correct for that game - so head there if you need to, but if you're on the new P3 Reload you're in the right place. S-Links in Persona 3 Reload work as in the original game, where hanging out with your friends grants affection points - but saying and doing the right things during those hangouts grants bonus points, which in turn means that you'll rank up more quickly. We list the dialogue choices and the points values below. The affection point gains listed include the Arcana Bonus - which is granted you have a Devil arcana Persona in your current team stock when spending time with Tanaka. Simply choose the options we suggest and you're on the optimized path to Rank 10!

Social Link Choices
Unlock & Rank 1
Starting in late May, you can find Tanaka standing on Paulownia Mall. However, this man will not pay you any attention until you have reached rank 4 in Courage and Charm. Once you achieve these social stats, he will take notice of you. He will then request that you give him 20,000 yen. The next time you see him again, he demands another 10,000 yen. Finally, paying him for the third time will start the social link.
