Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Mission walkthrough

You need to be HR 21 or higher to attempt the MH Wilds SF6 collaboration quest that you can access after downloading the Monster Hunter Wilds version 1.011 update. This quest has multiple steps and just like the Alma Glasses quest, the locations aren't obvious. I'm going to include a step-by-step walkthrough for every single thing you need to do in the Ultimate Strength side mission in Monster Hunter Wilds below:

  • Talk to Quinn in the Oilwell Basin (marked on the map) - The NPC is marked on the map with a yellow indicator after updating the game.
  • Investigate the upper stratum - For this, you need to go to Area 5 in the Oilwell Basin and look for the Tempered Rathian carcass.
  • Investigate the lower stratum - For this, you need to go to Area 11 in the Oilwell Basin and look for the Tempered Gypceros carcass.
  • Optional: Listen to the people of Azuz - You can skip this step if you want as it isn't needed, but you can complete it by talking to the NPCs marked on the map in camp.
  • Talk to Maki in Azuz - Once you have investigated carcasses in the upper stratum and lower stratum, you need to talk to Maki in the Oilwell Basin. Maki is marked on the map.
  • Search the lowest part of the Subterranean - For this, you need to find Akuma in the Oilwell Basin. To find him, you need to go to the fork in between Area 18 and Area 14. He is in the small passage (right part of the fork as shown in the image below). He will give you an Arena Quest.
  • Complete the Arena Quest - To accept this quest, you need to go to the Grand Hub and accept it from the Arena Quest counter. The quest is a Tempered Ajarakan. You will be using Akuma's armor for this and can pick one of a few weapons with preset gear. The quest isn't hard and it mostly serves as a tutorial for using the new Akuma armor actions. You can practice these on the barrel in the Wounded Hollow arena before jumping down to actually take on the monster. I recommend using these new actions as it makes the fight a lot more fun and easier. As you punch and use the new Akuma attacks, you will build up your Drive Gauge. You can then use a Drive Impact on a wound with the appropriate action by holding L2 and pressing the relevant button depending on your controller or keyboard. The game gives you a lot of tutorials in this quest so paying attention to them is more than enough. Note: The first time you do this quest for the Side Mission, it is solo only. After that, you can do it with a friend (up to 2 players in total).
  • Talk to Akuma in the Oilwell Basin - Once you've completed the Arena Quest, you will earn a SF6 Ticket which is used to craft the Akuma Armor and Blanka-Chan Palico Armor.

How to get SF6 Tickets in Monster Hunter Wilds

After you complete the Ultimate Strength Side Mission detailed above, you can do the True Strength (up to 2 players) and Demonic Strength (Solo) Arena Quests to earn SF6 Tickets.

Monster Hunter Wilds Akuma alpha armor

To forge this, you need to have completed the Ultimate Strength Side Mission and then do the Arena Quest a few times to unlock enough SF6 Tickets. This is a full armor set so you cannot forge individual parts separately. You need the following to forge it:

  • SF6 Ticket x 5
  • Ajarakan Scale+ x 3
  • Ajarakan Jewel+ x 1

The Akuma MH Wilds armor set equipment skills are Heroics Level 3, Partbreaker Level 3, and Evade Window Level 2.

Monster Hunter Wilds Blanka-Chan alpha Palico armor

To forge this, you need to have completed the Ultimate Strength Side Mission and then do the Arena Quest a few times to unlock enough SF6 Tickets. This Palico set  requires the following materials to forge both parts at once:

  • SF6 Ticket x 2
  • Ajarakan Scale+ x 2

How to unlock the Street Fighter 6 Collaboration Akuma nameplate, background, and Satsui no Hado pose

Once you've completed the Ultimate Strength Side Mission, do the True Strength Arena Quest (up to 2 players in total) to unlock the Street Fighter 6 Collaboration Akuma nameplate, background, and Satsui no Hado pose as a reward for the first completion.

That covers the free content in the Monster Hunter Wilds SF6 collaboration. For the paid content, check out my DLC guide here.
