The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales - How to find all the chests the Water Ruins in the Age of Reconstruction
As you explore dungeons in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, sometimes you see puzzles that you cannot solve yet. Oftentimes, it's pretty clear you are missing something that allows you to solve the puzzle, whether it is a weapon or a new ability for Faie.
However, there is one dungeon in the game where this rule doesn't apply. Relatively early on in the game, once you've returned to the Kingdom of Huther with Faie, you'll be able to explore the Water Ruins in the Age of Reconstruction. You'll even find some extremely valuable chests here, as you'll gain the Dive ability here. Despite clearing a boss fight and finding key loot in a big chest, you'll note that there are three chests still in the dungeon, according to your map, as well as some unexplored sections.
How do you get these chests? What Faie ability or weapon are you missing?
Turns out, you aren't missing anything. In fact, Water Ruins (Age of Reconstruction) is the only dungeon in the game where part of the dungeon (outside of a boss) is locked off due to story progression. Those last three chests on the map cannot be collected until later in the game. So, if you are still only in the Age of Reconstruction, don't worry about those last few chests until you've reached the Age of Budding.
Once you clear the story events at Dragonpillar (Age of Budding), a couple of walls in Water Ruins (Age of Reconstruction) will have collapsed, allowing you to finally fully explore the dungeon. This is also where you find the Leytstaff sword, which is required for achieving the True Ending in The Adventures of Elliot. It also lets you destroy those strange barrier doors you may have seen. There aren't many explicit clues in the game that you should return here, other than some minor NPC chatter in Littlehope Village.
