Steel Reign story update for Fallout 76 launches on July 7; Expeditions: The Pitt coming in 2022
During today's Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Bethesda announced that the Steel Reign update to Fallout 76 will launch on July 7. Steel Reign was previously given a Summer release window in a 2021 roadmap for the game.
Additionally, a new update to Fallout 76 is coming in 2022 titled Expeditions: The Pitt. Expeditions are repeatable randomized missions to other locations in the Fallout universe.

Expeditions – The Pitt Teaser
The Steel Reign update includes:
- New Questline - Choose what direction the Brotherhood of Steel will take and solve the mysteries behind the appearance of the Super Mutants
- New Locations and Gear - Unlock unique gear from the Brotherhood’s arsenal and explore new locations as you uncover what's been happening in Appalachia
- Season 5 Scoreboard – K.D. Inkwell is back in Escape from the 42nd Century! Rank up to unlock new rewards including C.A.M.P. items, cosmetics, and more. Beginning July 7.
- Legendary Upgrades – Put those Legendary Modules to work and create your own 1, 2, & 3-star legendary items, right from the comfort of your own C.A.M.P.
Expeditions: The Pitt
Expeditions: The Pitt is a free update to Fallout 76 that will take you outside Appalachia, coming 2022. Expeditions are repeatable and randomized off-site missions to various exciting locales in the Fallout universe.
