Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin unleashes its chaos on March 18, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store

During the Square Enix Presents: Tokyo Game Show 2021 livestream, Square Enix concluded its presentation with a brand-new look at Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. The game is launching on March 18, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store.

A lot of new footage was shared, including the reveal of a new female character named Neon that joins Jack's party. The trailer leans a lot more into the first Final Fantasy's world as it assembles the 4 Warriors of Light of Jack, Ash, Jed, and Neon, along with details of how darkness is corrupting the crystals of fire, wind, water, and earth. Many new, brightly lit environments were showcased. Final Fantasy players will notice the return of a familiar boss - Tiamat.

Another limited-time demo for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin was also announced. It is now available to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this time around; it will only be available until October 11. The new demo incorporates some changes based on survey feedback from the first limited-time demo earlier this year and also includes some multiplayer features too.

Square Enix also announced pre-order and other purchase bonuses for the game:

  • A Digital Deluxe Edition (all platforms, $89.99) will net players a digital artbook, digital mini soundtrack, and a DLC Season Pass, which includes additional missions ‘Trials of the Dragon King, ‘Wanderer of the Rift’ and ‘DIFFERENT FUTURE’.
    • Those who purchase a standard edition can buy a Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade at launch, offering the same Deluxe bonuses
