Dangen Entertainment to release English version of Vestaria Saga Gaiden: The Sacred Sword of Silvanister on Steam in 2022
Dangen Entertainment has announced that Vestaria Saga Gaiden: The Sacred Sword of Silvanister will release in English in 2022 for PC (Steam).
For those unaware, Vestaria Saga is a series of tactical RPGs created by Fire Emblem creator Shouzou Kaga with character designs from Mayumi Hirota (Fire Emblem: Thracia 776), developed using SRPG Studio. The first game in the series is Vestaria Saga I: War of the Scions, which was released as freeware in Japan in September 2016 followed by an English Steam release in December 2019.
The Sacred Sword of Silvanister is a 25-chapter spinoff that takes place after Vestaria Saga I: War of the Scions. It was originally released as freeware in Japan in March 2019. While no price has been announced yet, it is worth noting that the original Vestaria Saga was priced at $19.99, despite being free in Japan, to offset translation costs.
There is currently one other Vestaria Saga spinoff available in Japanese, titled Heroes of Lucca, although this is a much smaller project consisting of only 4 chapters acting as a prequel to Vestaria Saga I. There is no news regarding an official English release of this gaiden game.
For those looking forward, Vestaria Saga II is planned, though nothing is concrete about its development outside of Kaga's desire to make it. A third spinoff game is also in the works, titled Norden Civil War, which is more of a territory-based strategy game rather than a tactical RPG.

After a ship carrying a Solvian imperial diplomat was mistakenly set ablaze in Meledian waters, the Solvian Emperor Manneus declared war on the island kingdom. Led by the famed general Ajax, Solvia's imperial forces soon invaded Meledian shores. Once Meleda suffered a critical defeat in the Battle of Frist, the Empire quickly swooped in to seize the royal capital of Regina. Crushed beyond any hope of recovery, Meleda was forced to watch its invaders brutally wipe 500 years of history right off the face of the map. And so, one year passed... Once thought to have gone missing, the young princess Athol miraculously returned to the royal capital and freed its people through a furious battle.
The one who fought valiantly by her side and helped lead her to victory was none other than Zadrian, the young heir to Redessa. Meleda praised Zadrian as a national hero, showering him with fame and glory that far exceeded what they had once shown his elder brother Zecharias, the kingdom's finest knight. Zech was not only engaged to the princess, he was also the acting commander of the Meledian army... And most importantly, he was Zade's big brother– the man who Zade loved and respected more than anyone else. Feeling like his very presence had become a stain on his dear brother's reputation, Zade decided to leave the capital and set off on a new journey to the Temenos of Vesta. He took with him on his quest only a single traveling companion: Accorte Roland, a student of Sphire's magic academy and the daughter of a man who once saved Zade's life...
