Dark Souls online error fix incoming

Dark Souls has had a bit of a rough first few days in Japan thanks to a bug in the PlayStation 3 version of the masochistic Action RPG that's caused random freezes when it's being played online.

From Software have now officially confirmed that the bug is a widespread problem, but tell Japanese fans via their twitter feed that they're on the case. The online service for the game has been suspended while they work on a fix.

They later confirmed that the cause of the nasty bug has been found and a patch is in the process of being built. A patch will be released and the servers reinstated next week. That means the issue will be fixed before the US and EU release, which happens on the 4th and 7th of October.
