Final Fantasy Type-0 might be heading West after all

It's looking increasingly likely that fan prayers might be answered and Final Fantasy Type-0 might be getting a Western localization after all - after a voice actor tweeted about taking on the role of a character called 'King' in a new Final Fantasy title.

Poor Steve Blum - who has also provided voices for Final Fantasy XII and XIV - probably didn't realize the significance of his Tweet. RPG Site readers may also be familiar with Blum as the voice of Mass Effect 2's 'Perfect Krogan' Grunt and as Gale in Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga.

The tweet has since disappeared - pouring a few more gallons fuel on the fire - but read "Also started on King for a new Final Fantasy. Look for it mates!" The folks over on NeoGAF were as dilligent as ever, and deleting it was too late - a permanent record now exists.

King is this dude, one of the class of thirteen characters who make up the core of Final Fantasy Type-0.

While this could be another character called King for another Final Fantasy game, we'd say that's pretty unlikely. That said, if Type-0 is only beginning recording now a release will be a way out - likely after the launch of the PlayStation Vita. The question now is if the game will see a PS Vita release, a PSP release or both.

If you want to see what the game's like, we posted 11 minutes of gameplay footage last week. If you're not willing to wait for this localization remember that the PSP is region-free and Play Asia have the Asian and Japanese versions of the game available for preorder. In addition to that, two versions of the soundtrack by Crisis Core composer Takeharu Ishimoto are also available for Preorder.

If you can't get enough Type-0 you can find more ScreenshotsArtwork and Videos of Type-0 over in the Media Vault.
