Square Enix and Luminous Productions delay Forspoken again back to January 24, 2023

Square Enix and Luminous Productions have announced that Forspoken will no longer be launching on October 11. Now, the title will be coming on January 24, 2023.

This is the second delay that Forspoken has seen; it was initially launching on May 24, but was pushed back to October 11 back in March. They cite that Forspoken has been delayed again "as a result of ongoing discussions with key partners" and that "all game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase."

Forspoken was last seen at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2022 in late March where Luminous Productions shared various technologies being implemented into the game, including AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution and Microsoft DirectStorage. Luminous Productions showcased how they were implementing screen-space reflections, ambient occlusion, and variable shading in the title as well.

As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey. Your excitement for the game inspires us every day and we cannot wait to share more about Forspoken with you later this Summer!
