Merry Christmas from RPG Site!

We're out. We're done. For the next few days, there'll be no updates so we can all celebrate Christmas. Hold back those tears, though - we'll be back right after Christmas with a slew of new content.

Right after Christmas and early in the New Year we'll be kicking out reviews of titles like Tales of the Abyss 3D, Final Fantasy XIII-2 & Final Fantasy: Type-0 on import and non-RPG Zelda: Skyward Sword, as well as our usual slew of RPG of the Year content you've come to expect over the years.

2011 has been kind to us - the site has seen real growth and we've picked up some really talented individuals and added them to our staff - which makes for better content for you guys. We launched a new design this year and had the back end rebuilt from scratch, which Mike, the lone ranger coder, never gets enough credit for because his name never appears on the top of any articles.

I can't state enough how proud I am of our comprehensive coverage of E3 2011 and Tokyo Game Show 2011 as well as how our news page has grown into something bigger, better and more comprehensive than it ever was before. The Media Vault is bulging with hundreds of gigabytes of RPG screenshots, artwork, images and videos, while the RPG database is growing all the time. For a site of our size I think we punch considerably above our weight, and that's somehting we can stand up and be really proud of.

I have to thank all of our staff for all their contributions and all the PR, Community and Marketing representatives again for giving us their time and attention - so thanks, guys. Most of all, though, I have to thank you lot - the RPG fans, the readers. It's a cliché but also a truth that without you there would be no RPG Site. Thank you so much.

What's next for us? 2012 already looks great for RPGs - we've got Final Fantasy XIII-2 in English, Mass Effect 3, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Persona 4: The Golden -- to name but a few. You can expect even better coverage at E3, TGS and GamesCom as well as even more timely reviews and news from us as we beef up efforts on that front.

2012 also marks the 25th birthday of Final Fantasy and the 10th of Kingdom Hearts, and you can of course expect content from us marking that milestone and a more modern relaunch of our 11-year-old Final Fantasy portal UFFSite. We're also finally gearing up for plans for a regular podcast and more video content - so watch out for that.

I hope that sounds like a plan and encourages you all to keep visiting. We're really thankful for it. If you want to keep up with us, you can use our RSS, Twitter Feed and Facebook Page.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New  everyone! I hope you all get what you want and get plenty of time to sit down with whatever RPGs you're planning to play over the holidays. Here's some Christmas music, RPG style.
