Baldur's Gate 3 gets a release month at long last

It has been a long time coming, but after more than two years in early-access, Larian Studios next epic RPG, Baldur's Gate 3, has received a release month at The Game Awards, August 2023. This sequel to Bioware's classic will see you take on a new adventure struggling to resist changing into a Mindflayer creature.

With Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has worked to meld their style of gameplay with the mechanics and systems of Wizards of the Coasts 5th edition of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game, including familiar classes like Bards and Druids. Baldur's Gate 3 also manages to recreate the thrill of rolling 20-sided dice as you try to succeed in tasks, both simple and near impossible, with the outcomes impacting your story and events after.

As someone who was at the initial reveal of Baldur's Gate 3 at PAX and has been enjoying the game in early access since day one, it's such a relief that the release is finally on the horizon. I look forward to playing through the game with my Divinity Original Sin 2 crew, and getting into a whole new set of problems due to my character's sticky fingers. The hardest thing now will be figuring out how to budget my time with all the other games releasing in the summer!

If you can't wait, Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available on Steam in early access where you can experience the first act of the game right now!
