Action RPG based on graphic novel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin in development

A video game adaptation of 2020 graphic novel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is in development, according to Doug Rosen, senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global, speaking in an interview with Polygon.

Described as a third-person action RPG, Rosen likened the upcoming game to the recent God of War reboot titles. This is admittedly tricky for us, because we are RPG Site, so we are interested in this announcement, but we typically did not consider God of War to be within our "RPG" scope. Being a genre site is hard sometimes.

Unlike most TMNT media that features all four turtles and their friends, The Last Ronin features a single surviving turtle in a future battle-ravaged New York City. Rosen states the game is a few years off, and the developer has yet to be named. More details to come.
