Final Fantasy XVI PS5 bundle has custom controller and faceplates in Japan

Square Enix and Sony have announced special hardware bundles for Final Fantasy XVI. Sold in North America, Japan, and Southeast Asia, the bundle will contain a PS5 console, a digital copy of the game, and a DualSense controller. However, in Japan and parts of Asia, players will also be able to obtain a special DualSense controller and PS5 faceplates with customized art and coloration. Pre-orders for the packages open on May 4, 2023.

Check out the custom accessories below. They are sold separately from the hardware bundle in Japan, which contains a standard PS5, DualSense, and a voucher for the game.

The limited edition Final Fantasy XVI DualSense controller and the FFXVI faceplates are both decorated to evoke the visual style of the game. The controller is based on the Midnight Black DualSense colorway, with patterns painted in gold and "crystal blue" on the handles and touchpad. It sells for 8,980 Yen (about $68 USD).

The faceplates are also black, with the Eikons Phoenix and Ifrit printed on one of them in gold. The PS5 faceplates are available for both the standard PS5 and the Digital Edition model for 7,980 Yen (about $60 USD).

As for the Final Fantasy XVI PS5 bundles themselves, they vary in price based on the model being purchased. All will include the pre-order bonuses for the game, including a "Brave Heart" weapon, and the "Cait Sith's Lucky Charm" and "Scholar's Glasses" accessories.

Pre-orders for the Final Fantasy XVI PS5 bundles open on May 4, 2023. The North American bundle can be ordered through PlayStation Direct. The game launches for PS5 on June 22, 2023.
