Paradox releases new Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 screenshots, opens refunds for pre-orders

Publisher Paradox Interactive posted an update on the long-in-development Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, promising that a full re-reveal of the upcoming cult-classic sequel will be shown in September 2023. In the meantime, the publisher also released a new batch of screenshots for the game.

Last we heard of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, the game was delayed indefinitely in 2021, Paradox removed developer Hardsuit Labs entirely from the project, and pre-orders were halted. At current, the new developer of the game has yet to be revealed.

Check out the new screenshots below, which mostly show off environmental renders, but one shot of a bar includes a few unnamed characters:

In the accompanying blog post, Paradox reassured fans that the game is still in development. However, it also announced that it will be refunding all physical pre-orders of Bloodlines 2. Digital pre-orders would be refunded by request from the buyer. Check out this FAQ for more details on the Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 refunding process. According to the FAQ, the reason physical pre-orders are being refunded is that the prior offers "are no longer representative of the game." The refund mainly affects pre-order offers such as the Collector's Edition, which included a resin statue, soundtrack, and a poster.

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is a sequel to Troika's 2004 RPG Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. The game was first announced back in 2019, with a planned release in 2021. It was delayed out of that slot by the termination of Lead Narrative Designer Brian Mitsoda (who also helped write the original Bloodlines) and Creative Director Ka'ai Cluney.
