Persona 3 Reload 2nd trailer confirms February 2, 2024 release date, shows off SEES' new gear

Atlus has posted a new trailer for Persona 3 Reload, the current-gen remake of legendary PS2-era RPG Persona 3. First confirmed officially in June 2023, this trailer is the second one officially released. Besides new gameplay and narrative footage, it confirms the game's release date: February 2, 2024, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One (though the video itself only shows the PC and Xbox logos).

The new Persona 3 Reload footage includes scenes both familiar to players of the original game, reframed to suit the updated visuals, and what look to be new scenes. One scene shows the characters donning "new gear" with a more "tactical" aesthetic in preparation for an intense SEES operation. Other scenes show the daily life portions of the game. In keeping with Atlus' goal of remaking Persona 3 in a way that puts it on par with the likes of Persona 5 Royal, the presentation is quite reminiscent of P5R, from area exploration to the stylized UI (though Persona 3 Reload trades in that game's prominent blue and black rather than P5's red and monochrome). There are even stylized end cards when a character ends a fight with an All-Out Attack. The narrative footage also shows off more glimpses of Aigis and Pharos as they appear in Persona 3 Reload, as well as confirming Koromaru, everyone's favorite dog party member. 

Closing out the trailer was some release info. Pre-orders of the game will receive a Persona 4 Golden BGM Set DLC, which adds songs from Persona 4 Golden. The digital release of Persona 3 Reload will come in three flavors:

  • The Standard Edition will just contain the game itself.
  • The Digital Deluxe Edition will include a digital art book and soundtrack.
  • The Digital Premium Edition includes the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a pass for "all DLC". Just what DLC is planned is unknown, but going by the pattern set for Persona 5, one might expect additional costumes and personas to be announced sometime after release.

Persona 3 Reload will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on February 2, 2023. It'll also be a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.
