Monster Hunter Wilds showcases the Heavy Bowgun

Continuing the lead-up to the next major news drop for Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has released yet another overview trailer for one of the games' 14 weapon types - this time, the lumbering yet powerful Heavy Bowgun. Complete with it's signature Ignition Mode, shield, and more. 

Unlike with yesterday's Great Sword showcase, it's trickier to spot the exact differences with the Heavy Bowgun this time around - though, of course, the addition of Focus Mode actions is fairly obvious. As is the case with seemingly every weapon in Wilds, Focus Mode allows you to target specific weak spots on an enemy, not unlike how the clutch claw in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne could soften up parts on a monster. 

As one of 3 ranged weapons in the Monster Hunter franchise, Heavy Bowgun has always been a powerhouse when used by a skilled hand, and it's quite likely that the same will remain true for the weapon when it comes to Monster Hunter Wilds. We'll have to wait and see exactly how it shakes out in the full release.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) next year.
