Dune: Awakening showcases its building system in a new gameplay video

Funcom has released a new gameplay video for the open-world multiplayer survival game Dune: Awakening going over the game's building system ahead of its June release on PC.

Dune: Awakening will feature base building, multiple bases, a Blueprint system to copy any build into a Blueprint and have them placed anywhere, shared with other players, and more. It will also include co-op building. If you missed the recent story trailer for the game, Funcom also announced a large-scale beta. Dune: Awakening was recently delayed by a few weeks to incorporate feedback from the beta testers. The game's system requirements are here.

Dune: Awakening launches on June 10 for PC (Steam).

You can find the new building gameplay showcase video and details from Funcom below:

Dune: Awakening, developed by Funcom, is an open world, multiplayer survival game on a massive scale, where base building is a key part of the player’s survival and rise to power on Arrakis, the most dangerous planet in the universe. In today’s new video showcase, learn the various ways Dune: Awakening’s building system lets you claim your piece of the desert, and develop it into a wonder, piece by piece.

Start out by raising a small shelter as protection against the sun and bandits, and as a place to expand your crafting capabilities, even letting you refine blood into drinkable water. Expand your base, explore, build additional bases, and eventually, choose a Great House to align with. Once you have earned a place among the Atreides or the Harkonnen, you can begin to build with their unique architecture, visually inspired by Denis Villeneuve and Legendary’s award-winning blockbuster movies. From imposing and intricate fortresses, you will control the flow of spice.

For Dune: Awakening, Funcom has drawn on many years of experience designing building systems – pushing it to new heights with things like the Blueprint system, letting you copy any build into a Blueprint which can be placed anywhere in an instant, given to other players, or even sold. And with Solido Projections, co-op building has never been easier.

See more of Dune: Awakening’s building in action in the recent livestream, and dive even deeper into the mechanics of building in the recent blog, where you can discover more about building progression and mechanics.

Players will be able to carve their piece of Arrakis themselves on May 9 in the large-scale Beta weekend. For a chance to enter the Beta before it ends on May 12, they can watch the Global LAN Party Broadcast, where tens of thousands of Beta keys will be handed out to viewers.

Dune: Awakening releases on June 10. Pre-order now to get the Terrarium of Muad’dib and choose the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition for a 5-day head start and exclusive in-game items.
