Indie bullet hell shmup RPG Divine Orders releases for PC via Steam on May 22

Indie game developer angle M has announced that they will release Divine Orders for PC via Steam worldwide on May 22 in the Americas or May 23 from the UTC time zone eastwards. This title will be a bullet hell shooting game with RPG elements incorporated into the game.

Divine Orders will feature exquisite bullet hell sequences reminiscent of games like the mainline Touhou Project entries. But while most shmup games usually feature a strict life system where the player's unit can get killed by a single shot or two, this game will employ RPG-esque stats like HP and Defense that can also be levelled up and thus let them withstand the bullets.

The game will also have an Absorption system which, when activated, will let the player convert all bullets shot by a destroyed enemy to gems. The player can use them in addition to the reward money from clearing quests as a currency to buy Weapons and Runes in shops or to rest in the Lodging House.

You can find the official screenshots and descriptions for Divine Orders right below. A demo version of the game is also immediately available to download and access. The game will be available not only in Japanese but also in English. However, the Japanese indie developer has disclosed on the Steam page that they are using AI to translate the game to English.
