GAME Employees point to Wii Software Shortages
Employees of GAME - the UK's biggest specialist videogames retailer have began pointing to massive shortages of Wii software and accessories over the period of the UK Launch.
While a lack of hardware was a given, it's quite surprising to learn that most stores will not get a copy of Zelda or extra nunchuk for each console they receive - at many stores Wii gamers may be forced to go home with just the console and Wii Sports.
Remotes and Nunchuk controllers are set to be in short command - and while remotes will be in the Wii Play bundle, there will not be enough nunchuk controllers to go with these.
GAME stores have taken action to try to prevent the shortage from causing too much trouble - banning lone software purchases! Until the launch period is over, don't expect to be able to walk into a GAME store and purchase a game - the chain will only be selling games and accessories to people who have purchased the console.
In addition, all previous software preorders are null and void - software will be sold on a first-come first-served basis on launch morning. Good luck to everyone this Friday!
