1988 PC-9801 version of classic strategy RPG Warning ported to modern Windows PC via Project EGG
D4 Enterprise has just released a port of the 1988 PC-9801 version of Warning for Windows 10 and 11 PCs via Project EGG. This title is a Japanese classic strategy RPG with a space trading management feature.
The player becomes the captain of a trading spaceship who also has to find their missing brother Billy. They will be accompanied by the navigator Thomas "Tom" and the operator Tina on the ship's bridge.
There are 32 kinds of containers available for trading. By making a profit from these interplanetary trades while conserving enough fuel, the player can purchase ship upgrades and hire a squadron of mobile mech units to defend from random enemy encounters.
As with other Japanese retro PC games, Warning also appeared in multiple versions. D4 Enterprise had also previously released ports of the same game based on the PC-8801mkIISR version released earlier in December 1987 and the X68000 release from December 1988.
