Borderlands 4 launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 3
While Borderlands 4 has had its release date announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) months ago, and even got pushed forward a week and a hal f, ever since Gearbox's announcement of a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, players have been waiting to hear when that version will be hitting Nintendo's new console. Today on X (Formerly Twitter), Gearbox Entertainment's Randy Pitchford confirmed that the game will be launching only 3 weeks later for Nintendo Switch 2, on October 3. Further details about the port - technical specs, whether the game will receive a physical release on a Game Key Card or a proper cartridge, have yet to be confirmed.

Today's announcement follows last week's confirmation that Claptrap will, in fact, return for Borderlands 4. We don't know yet if the Nintendo Switch 2 version will also include a bespoke audio slider for Claptrap's dialog, much like the rest of the versions. Borderlands 4 launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 12, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version launching 3 weeks later on October 3.
