Telenet RPG Collection will bring 3 classic Super Famicom JRPGs to Switch on November 27 in Japan
Edia has revealed that they will release Telenet RPG Collection for Nintendo Switch in Japan on November 27. This compilation will contain ports of the following 3 classic JRPGs published by Telenet for Super Famicom (SNES) in the early 1990s: Dark Kingdom, Hiouden: Mamono-tachi to no Chikai, and Neugier: Umi to Kaze no Kodou.
The rundown for each of the titles included is as follows:
- Dark Kingdom
An RPG where the protagonist is an underling of the Demon King, with the humankind's savior Hero appearing as the antagonist. It also has a high degree of freedom in event choices, which will also lead to multiple different endings.
Originally released for SFC in Japan in late April 1994, but a Windows PC port via i-revo was also released in 2006.
- Hiouden: Mamono-tachi to no Chikai (Scarlet King Legend: Vow with the Demons)
A dark fantasy strategy RPG where the protagonist is a prince from a kingdom ruined by the betrayal of a minister. The prince will break demons free and have them fight with him to rescue other struggling allies.
Originally released for SFC in Japan in February 1994.
- Neugier: Umi to Kaze no Kodou (Pulsation of Sea and Wind)
An action RPG where the player assumes the role of Duke, the son of a feudal lord who received an order to return home from an expedition posthaste, as the whole kingdom suffers from a sudden rise in criminal and pirate activities.
Originally released for SFC in Japan in late March 1993.
Edia has also published a new trailer showcasing the port compilation, which you can also find right below. The three above JRPGs will be ported straight from their Japanese Super Famicom releases. As such, there are no confirmations on whether there will be official English localizations for these.
